In a powerful display of resilience and determination, a group of Sahrawi women organized a peaceful demonstration in the Erraha neighborhood of occupied El Aaiun, Western Sahara, to commemorate the anniversary of the declaration of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
Amidst a backdrop of tension and uncertainty, the women took to the streets, waving flags of the SADR and distributing leaflets to mark the significant milestone in their struggle for self-determination and independence.
The demonstration, characterized by its peaceful nature and the steadfast resolve of its participants, underscored the unwavering commitment of the Sahrawi people to their cause despite the challenges they face under occupation.
Speaking to Equipe Media, Degja Lachgar one of the organizers emphasized the importance of commemorating the anniversary of the SADR declaration, highlighting it as a symbol of hope and unity for the Sahrawi people in their quest for freedom and justice.
Despite the risks associated with their peaceful act in the occupied territory, the women stood undeterred, sending a clear message of defiance against oppression and a steadfast determination to assert their rights.
