Moroccan occupation forces detained Sahrawi human rights defender Ahmed Mohamed El-Amin El-Jaid, known as Hammadi Ennasiri, during a checkpoint stop on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred north of the occupied city of Boujdour.

Ennasiri, who serves as the president of the “Shams Al-Hurriya” Organization for Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders, was traveling to Mauritania. He and his companions were subjected to an hour of mistreatment by Moroccan police officers before being released.

The activist has a history of persecution, including enforced disappearance in the 1990s. His unwavering commitment to human rights and political activism has led to repeated arrests and job dismissals.
