The body of the deceased Sahrawi president and secretary-general of the Polisario front has been buried Today morning at 10:30 Am. Delegations from all around the world came to say goodbye to Mr.Mohamed Abdelaziz in his last home. Our correspondent has conveyed that the Mauritanian minister of religion affairs, Ahmadou Ould Ahmed Daoud has attended the burial. The coffin of the historic leader was transferred yesterday to the liberated territories after going through all Sahrawi refugee camps where tens of thousands of Sahrawis gathered for the farewell stance. Many were crying and vowing allegiance to the principles that Mohamed Abdelaziz has embodied during his term, represented in the Sahrawi people’s right of self-determination. Young Sahrawis were shouting the famous slogan “Rest, rest, Martyr Mohamed, we will continue the fight.”

While an atmosphere of grievance has dominated the scene. The former president has left a legacy full of achievements. Now, the Sahrawi people are united more than ever. When you walk through the crowds you could hear the word “It is the fight of All Sahrawis, and Mohamed was one of them”. Such insistence on resisting has enabled the Sahrawi people to endure tremendous suffering on both schemes of their cause. 160,000 Sahrawi refugees live in very hard conditions in the desert in Algeria , but are determined to get their right to choose on their fate, on the other side, are 500,000 who undertake inhumane treatment exercised by the Moroccan state for nothing but demonstrating peacefully to obtain the right that the UN has promised them 25 years ago. And as it has resonated again and again, the Sahrawi cause is a fight of several generations that each will become a strong standard-bearer that stands stiff in the midst of the sweeping storms.
