Boujdour (Occupied Western Sahara)

Moroccan occupying forces attacked a peaceful demonstration in the occupied town of Boujdour (some 200 km south of El Aaiun, in occupied Western Sahara) on Friday, trying to chase away about 20 Sahrawi women by beating them up, after they had gathered shouting calls for self-determination and the immediate release of all Sahrawi political prisoners.
The Sahrawi demonstrators had written their slogans on walls enclosing some major military barracks in the town and started waving SADR flags, before dozens of soldiers poured out of the installations and started throwing stones at the protesters.
Human rights activists and one or another eye-witness told Equipe Media that they had heard two shots, but got only a bit frightened, though.
Almost 10 female activists were wounded at the scene, including Sultana Khaya , the president of the Saharawi League of Human Rights and Protection of Natural Resources.
In addition to that, occupying forces also carried out house raids and entered the El Amine family’s home and searched it, smashing objects the family possesses onto the ground and damaging furniture, during their raid.
